Besiktas Group started building ships in good cooperation with the well-established Turkish shipyards in 2002. In the last 7 years until 2009 Shipyard has successfully delivered 21 projects, mainly to North European Ship owners. The capacity of the facility is building 6 ships up to 30.000 D.W.T per year. The first four 4100 D.W.T Imo II tankers were delivered in 2009. Besiktas Shipyard has a 235 meters long and 40 meters wide post Panamax size dry dock, with capacity 5 and 14 tons per day steel production dedicated to ship repairs and conversions. Lay berths, lifting capacities, ship repairs tools and equipment had been purchased and built parallel to the vision of being one of the best ship repair & conversion shipyards of Europe.
